Thomas Ambrosio

PERSONAL STATEMENT

My name is Thomas Ambrosio, and I am sophomore at Lake Mary High School in Lake Mary, Florida.

Soccer has been a passion of mine since my very first step onto a soccer field.  I started playing soccer at the age of 3 at the local recreational league.  My coach said I was different.  When all the other children would go in the chaos, I would wait patiently just outside for the ball to pop out and take it to the goal and score.  I saw things differently, even at such a young age.  I played with that team until the age of 10.  I needed more competition, so I made the leap to club soccer.  I joined the OCSS-Seminole in the summer of 2020.  I trained hard, worked on my skills, and proved to my coaches that my abilities were ready for the MLS Next team in the Fall of 2021.  I continued to work hard and improve my game under Coach Paul Shaw.  I was selected for the MLS Next Cup Best of Team in Dallas in June of 2022.  I was one of only 2 players selected from my club. 

I am a very hard working, competitive person both academically and athletically.  I have worked hard to have the opportunity to be a starter and captain of my MLS Next team at OCSS-Seminole where I play CDM and Center Back.  I work hard on and off the field to work on fitness, strength, speed, and agility by attending several soccer camps, and individualized fitness sessions at the local gym during the off season. I am dependable, consistent, and have a high soccer IQ that allows me to play several positions and, according to my coaches, I am vital to my team’s offensive attacks.

I never give up on and off the field.  I give everything of myself during the game.  I am not content to be anything but the best I can be.  I will study longer, train harder, and keep persevering until I accomplish my goals of playing collegiate soccer at the highest level, and maybe one day playing professionally.  When my high school career is over, I want to be known as an excellent student, a leader, and great team player.
